ROAM Data Names Gene Wang to Board of Directors

Mobile Industry Visionary Joins Mobile SaaS Provider for Direct Sales Industry



BOSTON, Mass. – June 30, 2008 – Mobile SaaS provider ROAM Data today announced the appointment of Gene Wang to the company’s Board of Directors. As a well-respected leader with experience at Bitfone/HP, Symantec and Borland, Wang will contribute to the future direction and success of ROAM Data.

Mr. Wang currently serves as Chairman of Airscape Communications, a Silicon Valley-based developer of high performance mobile GPS ASIC technology.

Gene has successfully led three technology companies as CEO including Bitfone Corporation, which was sold to HP in 2007.  Before Bitfone, Gene was CEO and Chairman of Photo Access, where he sold its hardware business unit to Agilent Technologies in 2000. 


At Symantec, Gene was Executive VP where he managed four divisions and helped grow the annual sales from $172 million to $412 million. Gene was VP and general manager at Borland, where he drove sales of the C++ programming language to over one million copies.



As the founder and original chairman of the board of directors for the Over-The-Air Flash Forum, Gene is active in this wireless industry special interest group that defines and promotes over-the-air mobile phone technologies. Gene earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
